Buyer guide

How much do Medicare leads cost?

Medicare lead pricing depends on freshness, exclusivity, geography, qualification, delivery method, and the evidence supplied with each inquiry. Compare complete buying terms rather than a headline price. A useful quote defines what you receive, when it arrives, who else receives it, and which defects qualify for replacement or credit.

What actually changes a Medicare lead quote?

A quote describes a particular inventory specification, not a universal market price. A recently submitted request, an older record, a connected call, and a scheduled callback are different products. Ask vendors to separate those categories before discussing a budget. Otherwise, a mixed batch can hide material differences in intent and handling requirements.

Geographic restrictions, language needs, requested product, age of the inquiry, delivery schedule, and required screening can all influence pricing. Narrow filters also affect available supply. Ask which filters come from consumer answers and which are inferred. An inference should not be presented to your agents as a verified statement from the consumer.

How should you compare written quotes?

Give every vendor the same specification: licensed service area, product scope, allowed hours, delivery format, duplicate window, and required consent fields. Request a sample payload and a plain-language description of the consumer journey. A comparable quote should identify minimum commitments, unused-balance treatment, cancellation terms, and any separate platform or transfer charges.

Distinguish exclusive delivery from exclusive ownership of consumer attention. A vendor can promise not to resell its record without preventing the person from submitting another form elsewhere. Ask whether exclusivity applies across affiliates, traffic partners, and subsequent resale, and get that definition in the agreement rather than relying on a label.

  • Document record age at delivery.
  • Define every billable event.
  • Confirm caps and pause controls.

Which costs sit outside the lead invoice?

Your operating burden includes agent availability, dialing or call-routing tools, supervision, record storage, and time spent reviewing disputed records. A format that appears inexpensive can be unsuitable if your team cannot process it lawfully and consistently. Compare the workflow needed to use each format, not just the purchase order.

Map the path from delivery to final disposition. Identify who reviews licensing, who checks contact permission, who answers transfers, and who handles opt-outs. Use your own operating data to estimate workload. Do not import a vendor’s promised sales result into a staffing plan or assume a lead purchase will produce an enrollment.

What evidence should accompany the purchase?

Require the consent record text, timestamp, page URL, and IP address when applicable to the collection method. Ask for the actual page version and the receiving parties identified to the consumer. These fields support review; their presence alone does not establish lawful contact or satisfy every rule for every channel.

For calls, require recordings and associated routing timestamps, subject to applicable recording and privacy requirements. Buyers should be state-licensed and verified for the business they receive. For Medicare Advantage and Part D, have compliance review applicable TPMO disclosures and beneficiary data-sharing consent before accepting inventory. Do not treat a generic insurance checkbox as universal permission.

How can you test a quote without overcommitting?

Start with a bounded order your available agents can handle. Keep geography, staffing hours, product scope, and disposition definitions stable while comparing vendors. Capture delivery time, first permitted contact, consumer recognition, qualification discrepancies, and claim outcomes. Separate source defects from failures caused by an unanswered queue or an internal routing problem.

Review actual records rather than only dashboard summaries. A vendor that supplies clear explanations for rejected claims may be easier to evaluate than one offering broad verbal assurances. Decide in advance what evidence triggers a pause, who can stop delivery, and how remaining funds are handled when the test ends.

When should you reject an attractive quote?

Decline inventory when the vendor cannot explain its source, refuses to provide reviewable permission evidence, or uses misleading government-affiliation claims. This buying guide is independent and does not imply government affiliation. A low apparent acquisition cost does not cure an unsuitable collection process or a mismatch with your licensed footprint.

Also reject terms that leave billing ambiguous. If a transfer disconnects before the agreed handoff, your contract should explain the outcome. If a duplicate appears, the comparison window and matching rule should be clear. Resolve these issues before delivery, when both parties can still adjust the specification without disrupting live operations.
